Coaching some Sharks

Like always...I am late with my blogs and always forget to update them as soon as things happen so this is a quick recap of my experiences with the Alicante, Sharks in wonderful sunny Spain!

The winter of 2012 I got the very fulfilling and wonderful opportunity to be an assistant coach with the quickly growing and rapidly developing American football team in Alicante. I am proud to have been able to be around such a group of great guys with a burning passion for American football in a country that barely recognizes its existence, and so commonly is living in the shadow of some of the best soccer aka football in the world.

From the little time spent with the players and coaching staff of the Sharks, I learned a couple things. No matter a persons and or teams size or experience the wonderful sport of American football can grow and thrive and bless the lives of the people who sacrifice and dedicate their time and emotion to it.  The Sharks are a grossly undersized team but where they lack in size they for sure make up for it in heart!

The team was led by a experienced Spanish head coach Jesus Cosie Alcaine , and talented assistant coaches, Rogelio Pardo Mateos Alejandro Pertíñez Gómez, and of course president Manuel Gómez-Brufal and in my opinion are some of the best coaching talent and management in Spain! I enjoyed my coaching and working with all the great players in this club and wish them the best of luck in the future, I am sad to have had to leave back to Finland before I got to see the players battle it out on the gridiron and wish them nothing but the best for their  organization, lives, and of course future seasons!  GO SHARKS!!!!!!

BEST OF LUCK THIS SEASON BOYS!!!
